Director
David was the co founder of Hughes & Co with his wife Vicki in 2003. He trained with a middle tier accountancy firm in the Black Country, qualifying with the ACCA in early 1997. Following qualification David moved to Shropshire to work for a top 15 accountancy firm in a senior managerial role.
As well as managing a varied compliance portfolio of SME businesses, David has been involved in numerous specialist assignments, a few highlights of which include:-
- Acting as treasurer for a charitable trust providing educational grants to the local community.
- Offering advice and support on numerous business acquisitions and sales.
- Being a key individual in the growth and development of a ‘Business Development Programme’ aimed at SME’s. (This included organising and running local workshops and seminars).
In his spare time David enjoys a wide variety of sports, in particular football and golf. He also likes to travel, which helps him enjoy one of his newer interests being snowboarding.
David has also been involved on a voluntary basis at the local junior school.
